The Dower

After the death of the husband, the wife retained possession of the Homeplace until her death and it went to the children specified in the will. This provision removed the necessity of the probate court setting aside a dower. So, here you have no title of property in her land, even after the death of the husband. Remember this when reading deeds, where the wife relinquished her dower rights in properties being conveyed.
