The Battle of Atlanta. A good source of information comes from Revolutionary War and Civil War Pensions. The former are found at the National Archives, with State Archives housing the Civil War Pensions. Don't forget, the War of 1812, which only lasted a short time yet still has some applications which should be read (at the Federal Archives). The applicant (soldier or widow) disclosed a variety of answers about himself as well as battles. Note who ultimately drew the pension and where they resided. Then search in that State and County.
