Courthouse Records

Courthouses maintain the old records. Speciically, wills, deeds, tax digests, minutes, marriages, etc. A good start is the probate court which has a record room of old books kept by clerks over the years. Original documents have been virtually lost. Luckily, the clerk wrote the full content of old wills in his will books. This is where the start. Georgia Pioneers has a huge collection of digital images of wills and estates.
